Idolatry and Discipline

This week, we zoom back out and take a look at the state of the Northern kingdom of Israel. What we find is that they have hedged their spiritual bets and found themselves worshiping the true God, but alongside a host of other idols. This idolatry leads them to walking in sin and rebellion on a massive scale. Though God had been good to them and warned them about their evil ways, they still persisted in their sin. Israel had seen God’s glory through His blessings, and now they would see it in His judgment.
