Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of Faith Church based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these Biblical doctrines.
I.
There is only one God, who created all things, and He has revealed himself to mankind.
II.
The Scriptures, comprised of the 66 canonical books of the Christian Bible, are our ultimate authority. They are God-given, true, and through them we can know and obey God.
III.
One God eternally exists in three persons. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. There is one God.
IV.
God the Father is the everlasting infinite perfect, personal, divine being who is the sovereign and rightful ruler of all that exists. He carries out all things in their proper time and order that they would consummate in Jesus Christ to reveal the supremacy of his name and purposes, and especially the greatness of His love.
V.
God the Holy Spirit is the divine agent by whom believers are born into the Kingdom of God. He empowers all believers to live a faithful and fruitful life on mission for the glory of God. He enables believers to live in union with God the Son and God the Father.
VI.
We, along with all of humanity (Jesus Christ excluded), are sinners by nature and choice.
VII.
The deserved penalty for sin is death, both physical and spiritual.
VIII.
Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God who took on flesh and was born of a virgin,
is both fully God and fully human.
is both fully God and fully human.
IX.
Jesus Christ died as our substitute to pay the penalty for our sin.
X.
Jesus Christ physically rose from the dead, ascended into heaven,
and will one day return.
and will one day return.
XI.
Jesus Christ reigns and rules over His Church, which consists of all
who have trusted in Him for their salvation.
who have trusted in Him for their salvation.
XII.
In a future physical resurrection of the dead, those who trust in Jesus Christ
will be raised to an eternal life; those who have not trusted in Jesus Christ
will be raised to eternal death.
will be raised to an eternal life; those who have not trusted in Jesus Christ
will be raised to eternal death.
XIII.
Only by trusting in the person and work of Jesus Christ alone
can we be reconciled to God, forgiven of our sins, and experience true life and joy.
can we be reconciled to God, forgiven of our sins, and experience true life and joy.
XIV.
Those who are redeemed and come to saving faith will never lose their salvation
but will remain in him. They will never fall fully and completely away because God,
by His grace, protects and preserves them.
